A man was stabbed in Lakewood on Tuesday morning, The Lakewood Scoop reported. He was walking in public around 9 a.m. when a woman stabbed him from behind.
“I feel a poke – I thought it was someone was poking me, making shtick,” the victim report. “Then I se someone in front of me, so I put my hand in my back and find a knife there.”
The victim took the weapon out of his back and screamed that someone should call the police, which a nearby secretary did.
The perpetrator fled with the victim in pursuit, and he managed to tackle her at the edge of an adjacent parking lot and hold her until police arrived.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the assailant was taken into custody.
The motivation for the attack is unknown as of now, but The Lakewood Scoop reported that the woman was known to the authorities as mentally unstable.
