Border Guards at the entrance to the Shomron Military Court arrested a terrorist who tried to smuggle two pipe bombs into the courtroom, Thursday.

An initial investigation of the incident shows that the alertness of the Border Police officers led to the prevention of an attack. The officers stationed at the entrance to the Military Court noticed a suspect trying to enter the courthouse. The officers who were in charge of the court’s security identified a number of things that raised their suspicions.

At this stage, one of the soldiers raised his weapon and directed it toward the suspect, who was asked to lift his shirt. Two pipe bombs fell to the ground and the suspect tried to infiltrate the court compound.

Immediately the police closed the entrance, removed curious people and called a sapper.

The suspect, 18, from the Jenin refugee camp, was arrested for further investigation by security officials.
