BD’E – Petirah of Kashau Rav Harav Eliezer Chaim Blum Zt”l

Hamodia is saddened to report the petirah of the Kashau Rav, Harav Eliezer Chaim Blum Zt”l, son of the late Kashau Rav Harav Rephael Blum, Zt”l. The Rav was niftar Friday night after an extended illness.

The Rav served as Rosh Yeshiva in Kashau for many years, and then opened a beis medrash in Monsey. After his father’s petirah, he succeeded him as Kashau Rav, who had established a kehillah in Bedford Hills, NY.

He was known for his tzidkus and for guarding his mouth. Several years ago, when the NYC mayor wanted institute restrictions on MBP for bris milah, Rav Blum spoke eloquently, in a refined English, and made an impassioned speech which convinced the city to roll back the planned restrictions. At the time, it was said that only someone who watched every word which emanated from his mouth would be able to deliver such a powerful and convincing speech.

The levayah will be held on Motzei Shabbos at 8:30PM in front of the Kashua Bais Medrash in Williamsburg located at 207 Ross Street.

Yehi Zichro Baruch.
