IDF Soldiers Face Off Against Rioters in Kalkilye

Israeli forces operating in Kalkilye overnight faced off against rioters who threw stones and bricks at them. The forces were seeking to make arrests of terrorists. Soldiers used antiriot measures to beat back the mob and carry out their mission. There were no injuries to Israeli forces.

IDF soldiers overnight Monday seized weapons that were to be used in terror attacks. Soldiers, working with police, discovered weapons in Arab villages in the Binyamin region. In a statement, the army said that such weapons were used in terror attacks as well as for criminal activity, and that security forces were determined to seize all weapons that were being held illegally by all people, in order to better protect all Israelis and residents of Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, who are also under threat by terrorists and criminals.

IDF soldiers continued their accelerated campaign of seizing cash and assets of families of terrorists who received “bonuses” from the Palestinian Authority and Hamas for the actions of families members in murdering Jews.

Soldiers overnight Monday seized tens of thousands of shekels in cash from families in the Jenin area who had received such payments. In addition to the cash, soldiers seized several vehicles belonging to families of terrorists. Weapons were also seized in the raid.

Overnight Monday, security officials said they arrested 18 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
