IDF soldiers on Tuesday foiled a plot by Arabs to smuggle weapons into Yehudah and Shomron. The weapons were in a van driven by an Israeli Arab, who was checked at the Cross-Shomron Checkpoint on Road 5 after he was judged to be behaving suspiciously. Security officials discovered several machine guns and other weapons. The driver of the van was arrested and questioned.

IDF soldiers early Wednesday dismantled several devices that had been planted by Gaza Arab terrorists along the Gaza border fence. Terrorists also rioted at the border, throwing rocks and firebombs at Israeli forces. The devices were dismantled without incident. On Tuesday, Gaza Arab terrorists started 11 fires in forests and farms along the Gaza border.

Overnight Tuesday, security officials said they arrested 15 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
