Police Foil Terrorist Attempting to Cross Into Yerushalayim

YERUSHALAYIM

A Palestinian terrorist was prevented by Border Police at the Qalandiya Crossing just outside Yerushalayim from entering the capital to carry out an attack on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old woman first attempted to go through the crossing without a permit, but was turned away. She returned later and tried to use her seven-year-old sister’s pass.

Then she attacked the officers on duty and attempted to force her way through the checkpoint. She was arrested and taken for questioning, during which she admitted that she had planned on carrying out a terrorist attack in the capital.

The police said that “the soldiers and policemen work throughout the year at the crossings around the Yerushalayim area and in their activities constitute human shields for the residents, prevent the entry of unauthorized persons into Israel and the smuggling of weapons. This is all in order to protect the residents of the State of Israel.”
