Palestinian Baby Named After Terrorist Who Stabbed 2 Jews to Death Just Hours Earlier

A Palestinian baby was named after terrorist Muhannad Halabi just hours after the terrorist stabbed two Jews to death, Harav Nechemia Lavi and Aharon Banita (Bennett), Hy”d, on Motzoei Shabbos.

WAFA, the official Palestinian Authority news agency, and the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported on the joyous naming. Both sources described the killer who murdered the two Jews and stabbed a mother and her baby as a “hero of our people” who was “murdered by the occupation army.”

Palestinian Media Watch reported that prior to his attack, in a post to his private social media page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a “third intifada.” He said it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This was a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the mosque and to the PA’s portrayal of Jews praying on Har HaBayis, which is against halachah, as “an invasion of the Al-Aqsa mosque.”

The following is the article, published by WAFA and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:

Headline: “Muhannad the Newborn Hugs Muhannad the Martyr, and the Two of Them Unite the Homeland”

“Even before the Martyr (Shahid) Muhannad Halabi was buried, the cry of a baby was heard in a hospital in the Gaza Strip, heralding the birth of a baby named Muhannad Halabi. …

“The parents of the baby decided to name their new son Muhannad Halabi after the Martyr Halabi from the village of El-Bireh, who was murdered by the occupation’s army in occupied Jerusalem.

“While still in the hospital, the mother of the baby called the mother of Martyr Halabi…

“During the phone conversation, the two mothers cried from joy: The mother of the baby cried from joy at the birth of her baby, who eternalized the name of the hero among the heroes of our eternal people, and the second mother [i.e., of the terrorist] cried from joy at the birth of the baby that will eternalize the name of her son the martyr.”
