NY Court Throws Out Disorderly Conduct Case

ALBANY

New York’s highest court threw out the disorderly conduct arrest of a reputed gangster blocking the entrance of a Harlem deli who refused to move when police told them to, The Associated Press reported. The Court of Appeals also dismissed the charge against Todd Johnson for the drugs police subsequently found in his pocket. The unanimous decision says it is not disorderly conduct for “even people of bad reputation” to stand “peaceably” on a street corner.
