NY Times Prints Correction, 161 Years Later
The New York Times on Tuesday printed a correction for misspelling the name of Solomon Northup, a free man sold into slavery, in a story that was printed over 160 years ago, The Associated Press reported. The error was pointed out by someone looking at the newspaper’s archives and discovered that the Jan. 20, 1853 article misspelled Northup’s name as Northrop.
