Tefillos Urged for Harav Nissim Karelitz, Shlita
Gedolei Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael have called for urgent tefillos for Hagaon Harav Nissim Karlitz, after his condition deteriorated suddenly on Monday afternoon.
As of Monday night, he was reported to be in stable condition, but sedated and on a respirator.
A letter signed by Hageonim, shlita, Harav Shmuel Halevi Wosner, Harav Aharon Leib Steinman, Harav Chaim Kanievsky, and Harav Gershon Edelstein, was issued yesterday calling for an increase in tefillos, Torah and good deeds for the refuah of Harav Shmaryahu Yosef Nissim Ben Basya.
The deterioration occurred while the Rav was recovering from surgery which had been successful, according to doctors at Maayanei HaYeshua hospital in Bnei Brak. On Sunday, he was well enough to learn in bed for several hours.
