Poll: 88 Percent of NYers Support Medical Marijuana

ALBANY -

A Quinnipiac poll released Monday finds 88 percent of New Yorkers support the legalization of marijuana for medical use (with only 9 percent opposed), The Associated press reported. A narrow majority doubt it will lead to harder drug use, and about half say it is no worse than alcohol. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has said he’ll launch a limited hospital-based medical marijuana program, but opposes full legalization.
