New Postage Stamp Honors NY’s First Black Rep.
A new postage stamp was introduced Friday honoring New York’s first black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm, as part of Black Heritage month. Chisholm, who died in 2005, represented parts of Brooklyn from 1969 to 1983.
