Feds Give $51M More for NY Low-Income Heating Aid
The federal government will release an additional $50.6 million to provide home heating aid to New Yorkers whose incomes are 150 percent of the federal poverty level or lower are eligible for heating aid, Sen. Charles Schumer announced Thursday. The New York Democrat said the release for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or HEAP, is part of $454 million more allocated nationwide.
