Greenfield Constituents, How Would You Spend $1 Million?
Councilman David Greenfield is inviting Midwood residents to a Participatory Budgeting meeting Wednesday to give them a chance to decide how $1 million in city funds is spent to improve their community.
The meeting, the second year that Greenfield is doing this unique budget method which was honored earlier this year by the White House, begins at 7 p.m. at P.S. 99, 1120 E. 10th Street, between Avenues K and L. Boro Park residents met last week and Bensonhurst residents will get their chance next Wednesday.
“This is a unique opportunity for the public to have a direct and real say over exactly how their tax dollars are reinvested back in the community,” Greenfield said.
Last year’s effort resulted in projects such as countdown signals and security cameras that are now being implemented around the district.
