Police Deny Bike Gang Victim’s ‘Connections’ Played Role

NEW YORK (AP/Hamodia) —

State police are denying a report that a relative of the SUV driver who was attacked by a motorcycle gang in Manhattan two weeks ago was the one who ordered the crackdown on bike gangs.

A video shows a state trooper on the Palisades Parkway telling a stopped motorcyclist that a crackdown began at the urging of Alexian Lien’s “uncle,” who “is one of our bosses on our job.”

But Patrick Regan, who commands the division that oversees the lower Hudson Valley, said that the report was untrue.

“There is no person of rank who has that relationship, or ordered such an enforcement action,” Regan said.
