Boruch Dayan Emes – Maran Harav Ovadia Yosef, zt”l
Waves of grief rocked the Jewish world when the news of the petirah of Maran Hagaon Harav Chaim Ovadia Yosef, zt”l, spread like wildfire. He was 93 years old.
The Rishon L’Tzion was niftar 6:30 am (Israeli time) this morning in Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Yerushalayim, where he was being treated for several weeks. Thousands of people who had been waiting near the hospital, davening for his recovery, tore kriyah when they heard the tragic news and erupted in heartfelt cries.
The levayah is scheduled to leave Yeshivah Porat Yosef, located on Malchei Yisroel street in Yerushalayim, at 6:00 this evening, Israel time.
