Suit Against Zuccotti Owner Over Occupy Raid Tossed

NEW YORK (AP) —

A federal judge says people upset over the police crackdown on the Occupy Wall Street encampment in 2011 can’t sue the company that owns the Manhattan plaza where the raid took place.

In a decision signed Thursday, U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald said Zuccotti Park owner Brookfield Office Properties can’t be held liable for any civil rights violations since the NYPD, not the company, was making decisions about whom to arrest and detain.
