NJ Dem Buono Taps Female Labor Leader as No. 2

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) —

New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono picked labor leader Milly Silva as her running mate, with an official announcement for the all-female ticket, a first for New Jersey, on Monday.

Silva, a 43-year-old Hispanic, leads a private union of low-wage healthcare workers. The two will mount a longshot bid against Gov. Chris Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno Nov. 5.
