Hagaon Harav Ovadia Yosef Returns to Hospital
Hagaon Harav Ovadia Yosef, shlita, was re-admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning when he continued to suffer severe pain in his back, apparently from what was diagnosed last week as a fracture in the lower vertebrae.
After an improvement in his condition, doctors agreed to release him after a series of tests and X-rays, in the hope that healing would occur without the need to resort to surgery — an option doctors wished to avoid in view of Rav Yosef’s advanced age.
However, it now appears that surgery will be necessary. The operation is reportedly scheduled for approximately 1 p.m. Israel time on Monday at Hadassah Ein Kerem in Yerushalayim.
The public is asked to daven for a refuah sheleimah for Ovadia ben Georgia.
