LI Town Posts Workers’ Private Info on Its Website

FARMINGVILLE, N.Y. (AP) —

A Long Island town says it accidentally posted the Social Security numbers of 78 ambulance workers and beneficiaries on its website.

The Town of Brookhaven said Wednesday it will pursue legal action against anyone who disseminates the information, which appeared for five days last week.

Brookhaven was notified about the error at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday and corrected it at 3 p.m. The information was part of an attachment that should have been removed.
