20-Story Medical Research Tower Planned for Rambam Hospital

YERUSHALAYIM - In an unprecedented joint venture, Rambam Medical Center and the University of Haifa have announced the construction of a 20-story tower for medical research, on the hospital’s campus in Haifa.

The 400-million-shekel structure, dubbed the Medical Discovery Tower, was announced at a press conference attended by Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Health Minister Rabbi Yaakov Litzman.

The Tower is aimed at promoting cooperation between the clinical field and research and development, according to Rambam director-general Prof. Rafael Beyar. It will give the university researchers better access to clinical resources, such as imaging devices, genetic testing and the advanced equipment system already in place in the hospital.
