Lag BaOmer Tree Giveaway
Councilman David Greenfield is hosting a tree giveaway this Sunday, Lag BaOmer, at the Boro Park Y Senior Center. The event, held in partnership with MillionTreesNYC and the New York Restoration Project, will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until the free trees have been distributed.
Four species of trees are available — Centennial Star Magnolia, Royal Purple Smoke Tree, Dawn Redwood and Brown Turkey Fig. Experts will be on hand to provide tips for their care.
Sunday’s event is limited to one tree per household. The tree must be planted on private property within New York City, and cannot be planted along streets, in city parks, in containers or on rooftops.
