Air Europa Flight Diverted to Rome Due to Mid-Flight Emergency

An Air Europa flight from Madrid, Spain, to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO) after declaring a general emergency over Italy on Monday morning, according to AviationSource News.

Flight UX1301, a Boeing 787-9, departed late from Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) at 9:16 a.m. local time, instead of its scheduled 8:30 a.m. departure. The aircraft has been in service with Air Europa since February 2020.

The specific cause of the emergency that led to the diversion remains unknown, as reported by AviationSource News.
