IDF Confirms Launching Operations in Gaza City’s Shejaiya

On Friday, the IDF confirmed the start of operations in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City.

As troops entered the area, Israel Air Forces (IAF) aircraft reportedly struck dozens of Hamas terrorist infrastructure sites. Overnight Thursday, IAF fighter jets also targeted a Hamas terrorist operating in a structure within Deir al Balah. The IDF stated that this site was “within a humanitarian area, being used by Hamas as a shield for their terrorist activity.”

Earlier, the IDF called on Palestinians in Shejaiya to evacuate and move towards the designated “humanitarian zone” in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian media reported a series of Israeli strikes and the advance of tanks into the neighborhood.
