Israeli troops carried out exercises this past week simulating combat in Lebanon, as part of the Northern Command’s efforts to boost readiness amid increasing tensions on the northern border.

The Golani Brigade’s 12th Brigade, currently stationed in the Mount Dov and Mount Hermon areas, conducted a drill simulating combat in complex terrain, according to military sources. These drills take place against the backdrop of daily attacks by the Hezbollah terror group on northern Israel, in the context of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. The government has warned that if a diplomatic solution is not achieved, it will take military action to push Hezbollah northward.
