The State Prosecutor has filed an indictment with the Be’er Sheva District Court against Yousef Abu Arar and Amar Mohammed Miata, who are suspected of stealing weapons from a military base in southern Israel.

According to the indictment, Yousef Abu Arar of Ar’ara, a secondary contractor for a sealing company providing services to the IDF, and Amar Mohammed Miata, who is in Israel illegally, worked together at a Paratroopers Brigade base. During their employment about a month ago, the two allegedly entered the staff living quarters and stole an M4 rifle from one of the officers’ rooms. They then hid the weapon in Abu Arar’s vehicle and left the base with it.

Arrest warrants have been issued against both men until the completion of legal proceedings. The Southern District Prosecutor’s Office stated, “There is a reasonable concern that the respondents will endanger the security of a person, the public’s safety, and the country’s security.”

The charges against the two include possession and transportation of weapons, weapons theft, and using a vehicle to carry out a crime. Additionally, Abu Arar faces charges of providing employment and accommodations to an illegal alien, while Miata is charged with illegal presence in Israel.
