Israeli-Arab Arrested for Allegedly Joining ISIS and Planning Terror Attacks

In a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the Coastal District Police, a minor from the village of ‘Ara, near Haifa in northern Israel, was arrested on suspicion of joining the Islamic State terror organization.
The minor allegedly intended to commit terror attacks in Israel and abroad by joining the organization’s ranks in Somalia.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the suspect had planned to leave for Somalia to join the Islamic State. Prior to his arrest, the teen had taken several steps to execute his plans, including writing a will, collecting funds, obtaining a foreign passport, and contacting hostile elements online.
On Monday, he was indicted on serious security-related charges.
