The IDF declared on Motzoei Shabbos that it had successfully dismantled Hamas’s ‘military infrastructure’ in northern Gaza.

During a press conference, IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari announced the completion of the dismantlement of Hamas’s military setup in northern Gaza. He further said that the focus had now shifted to dismantling Hamas in the central and southern regions of Gaza.

Additionally, the IDF mourned the loss of an officer during clashes in northern Gaza over the weekend, marking a total of 176 troops killed since the ground offensive against Hamas began. The officer, identified as Lt. Col. Roee Yohay Yosef Mordechai, Hy”d, 31, from Tel Aviv, served as a commander at the Nahal Brigade’s training base and was slated to become the next commander of Nachal’s 50th Battalion before his death.

In the same conflict, another soldier from the Nahal Brigade’s 931st Battalion sustained serious wounds, the IDF reported.

Hagari emphasized that while battles and sporadic rocket fire might persist in northern Gaza, Hamas’s infrastructure had been disabled, preventing large-scale attacks. He highlighted the dense presence of terrorists in central Gaza and an intricate network of tunnels in Khan Yunis in the south.

He stated, “There are no shortcuts when it comes to fighting terror. We have initiated and will continue to initiate operations to deepen our achievements in these areas, but it will take time.”
