I read your article about Jewish homelessness. I am very grateful to you for bringing this awareness to the greater Jewish community.
I work at an organization that helps women in crisis. The most painful part of my job is searching for housing for women who had to leave home due to abuse, and coming up empty. There simply is nothing out there! I’ve had four sweet ladies in the past year alone leave our office and go find themselves a train station, a 24-hour Dunkin Donuts or the like, to spend their nights. I am talking about good Jewish women who through no fault of their own landed on the streets.
I am begging you fellow Jews. Please, get in touch with any organization and offer your home and heart for those that have none. You will be saving a life.
