Fundraising Without Internet

Following the publication of the Op-Ed, “Yes, There Is” (Features, March 6), I received a number of inquiries from readers asking why I hadn’t made any mention of some of the other kehillos who had canceled online fundraising campaigns.

The answer is that I simply did not have this information when I penned this article.

I was delighted to discover that in addition to Rachmastrivka, the Kehillos of Ger, Bobov-45, Satmar, Dushinsky, Toldos Aharon, Slonim in Bnei Brak, Vizhnitz in Montreal and Kashau also either canceled at the last minute, or seriously considered and decided against an online fundraising campaign. Each them proved that despite the dire predictions of the naysayers, even in 2019, there is a viable non-internet option when undertaking a massive fundraising campaign, and in so doing created a great Kiddush Hashem.
