Washington Man Pleads Guilty to Making Threats Against Jews

MONROE, Wash. (AP) —

A Monroe, Washington, man has pleaded guilty after he spent months making online threats to kill Jews, to shoot up a school and other acts of terrorism.

The Everett Daily Herald reports that 20-year-old Dakota Reed admitted guilt Friday in Snohomish County Superior Court to two counts of threats to bomb or injure property.

The sentence is six to 12 months in jail.

Prosecutors plan to call for a year behind bars. His defense intends to argue for a lighter punishment at his June 4 sentencing hearing.

In 2018, the Anti-Defamation League tipped off the FBI about someone threatening mass killings on social media under fake names.

He espoused hateful views under seven profiles that used aliases. He was emboldened by a resurgence in hate groups nationwide.

Reed was arrested Dec. 7. A dozen guns were seized from his home.
