Scale-Up NZ, a free online platform connecting New Zealand businesses with funders, incubators, multinationals and other collaborators, was launched in Auckland on Tuesday, with over 200 business leaders and innovators in attendance, Forbes reported.

The platform was developed by Start-Up Nation Central (SNC), an Israeli non-profit organization that builds global bridges to Israeli innovation. SNC partnered on the project with New Zealand’s Callaghan Innovation.

Erica Lloyd, General Manager, Market and Sectors, at Callaghan Innovation, said that he hopes Scale-Up NZ will supercharge New Zealand’s budding innovation ecosystem. “There is research that shows highly networked and collaborative innovation ecosystems produce more intellectual property, commercialize more science and attract more capital,” he said.

“We’ve worked with over 2,800 companies in the last year, but we continue to find that many of them are struggling to locate the partners or funders that could help take their business to the next level,” said Callaghan Innovation Chief Executive, Vic Crone.
