NJ Transit Engineer Rescues Small Dog on Tracks
NEWARK – A NJ Transit train engineer came to the rescue of a small dog that was on the tracks while he was working on the Morris & Essex line, The Associated Press reported. Anthony Guzuman stopped the train, nabbed the dog, then took it to the station where crews worked to reunite it with its owners.
Buffalo Sees Over 100 Inches Of Snow So Far This Winter
BUFFALO – Buffalo has already seen 100 inches of snow this winter, WGRZ reported. Sunday morning’s snowfall pushed Snow City’s total to 100.4 inches. That didn’t happen last winter until March 15. The total is 30 inches more than Rochester’s and 20 more than Syracuse’s.
New NYU Med School to Focus on Primary Care
MINEOLA, N.Y. – New York University plans to open a new tuition-free medical school focusing on training primary-care doctors, Newsday reported. The NYU Long Island School of Medicine will offer a three-year study program when it opens in July with 24 students.
NY Joins Lawsuit Challenging Trump’s Wall Declaration
NEW YORK – New York joined California and 14 other states Monday in a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration for the border wall, The Associated Press reported. Attorney General Letitia James claimed it threatens public safety.
2-Vehicle Accident Sends Car Crashing Into Home
NEWARK – A two-vehicle accident early Tuesday sent a car crashing into a home, but no injuries were reported, The Associated Press reported. One of the drivers, believed to be in a stolen vehicle, fled the scene on foot. The accident also caused a transformer to come crashing down into the street.
