Returned Terrorist Suspected of Stealing Brussels Attack Data
Belgian authorities have arrested a returned Syria fighter on suspicion of stealing a computer disk containing autopsy information on the victims of the March 22, 2016 terror attacks on the Brussels airport and subway system.
The prosecutor’s office said Wednesday the disk had been stolen from its headquarters last week. Officials had notified families of the 32 victims about the theft earlier.
It was unclear whether it was a targeted attack to obtain the computer files on the autopsies, since other material also went missing during the burglary.
