Victims of Hezbollah Rocket Attack Identified as Nir and Noa Baranes, Hy”d

The victims of Tuesday’s deadly Hezbollah rocket barrage were identified on Wednesday as Nir and Noa Baranes, Hy”d, both 46, residents of Kibbutz Ortal in the Golan Heights. The couple is survived by their three teenage children.

Nir and Noa were killed when a rocket fired by Hezbollah hit their car near an IDF base in the Golan.

“The Golan Heights Regional Council is shocked, mourns, and is pained by the murder of the late Noa and Nir Baranes, and shares in the heavy grief of the family and Beit Ortal,” the Golan Regional Council said in a statement.

Hezbollah launched a barrage of 40 rockets at northern Israel on Tuesday, claiming it was in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike that killed Yasser Karnabash, a former personal bodyguard of the terror group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Karnabash, who was active in a Hezbollah unit overseeing arms transfers from Syria to Lebanon, was killed while driving on the Beirut-Damascus Highway.
