Gedolei Eretz Yisroel landed on Sunday to begin a historic mission to launch the Keren Olam HaTorah, a fund designed to supply the funding to mosdos haTorah in Eretz Yisrael that has recently been discontinued by the courts and the government.

The Gedolim will begin with a massive asifah Sunday evening in Lakewood, where thousands are expected to gather to greet and listen to the Gedolei Torah as they explain the need for supporting the mosdos in Eretz Yisroel at this crucial time. The asifah is planned for 7:00 p.m. in the lot adjacent to the Bais Shalom and Bias Aharon batei medrash at 10th Street and Clifton.

The weather is expected to be extremely hot, and organizers have alerted participants to keep hydrated by bringing along a water bottle, in addition to the water stations which have been set up around the area.

The campaign will be led by shlita: Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka; Harav Dov Lando, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka; the Mashgiach Harav Don Segal; Harav Yaakov Hillel, Rosh Yeshivat Ahavat Shalom; Harav Duvid Twersky, Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Yerushalayim, and Harav Avraham Salim, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Meor Torah.

The Gedolei Yisrael will begin a whirlwind series of visits to numerous communities to encourage full-fledged contributions from the Jewish communities throughout the area. This will afford these communities a rare opportunity to meet the Gedolei Torah to show their support and receive their brachos.
