Stabbing Attack Thwarted Near Yerushalayim

Israeli security forces prevented, b’siyatta d’Shmaya, a stabbing terror attack at a border checkpoint near Yerushalayim, apprehending the assailant before any harm could be inflicted.

The incident unfolded at the Mazmoriya checkpoint on the outskirts of Yerushalayim, east of the village of Tzur Bahar. According to Israel Police, the suspect approached the checkpoint and brandished a knife in the presence of security personnel.

In response, a border police office promptly opened fire, neutralizing the terrorist. Video footage from the scene indicated that the terrorist was still alive after being subdued.

The police confirmed that none of their personnel sustained injuries during the incident, baruch Hashem. Authorities later disclosed that the suspect had raised suspicions among the security forces stationed at the checkpoint. They pulled him over for an inspection, when he pulled out a knife. After security forces intervened and shot the terrorist, medical personnel provided treatment at the scene.

Subsequently, another incident was reported in the morning, involving an attempted shooting attack at the Jit junction in the Shomron, near Ariel. The terrorist fired shots at an IDF position, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. At the scene, nine bullet casings were discovered.

The IDF released a statement confirming the incident, noting that the terrorist had fired from the village of Deir Sharaf. While only military structures were struck, no casualties occurred. The statement also highlighted an ongoing manhunt in response to the incident.
