Upcoming Water Main Replacement in Monsey Will Be Limited to Nighttime Hours
(Rockland Daily) – The Village of Spring Valley received confirmation on Wednesday that work on a water main replacement on Union Road near Stone House Drive will be limited to nighttime hours, to minimize the impact on traffic in the area.
Union Road is set to be closed from Viola Road till Maple Road.
The original plan was to start on June 5, and would have entailed closing the road during the day. The plans were put on hold after Spring Valley Truystees Sruly Eisenbach and Asher Grossman requested a site visit with Veolia Water, the company managing the project, to discuss a way to alleviate the traffic concerns that would have affected drivers for five to six weeks if left unchanged.
Wednesday afternoon, Veolia Water confirmed with Eisenbach that the road work will only be done from 7:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
Road work will begin June 12.
