Suspect Arrested in Kings Highway Armed Robbery

Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly robbed a frum woman at gunpoint on Kings Highway Wednesday morning, Shomrim tells Hamodia.

A frum woman was shopping on the busy commercial street, and upon returning to her car at around 11:30 a.m. parked on Kings Highway and E. 13th Street, a black minivan double-parked in front of the victim. The suspect is seen on video footage emerging from the driver-side door of the minivan, and proceeded to approach the victim’s car.

After drawing a gun, the suspect demanded the victim’s Rolex watch. The victim gave over the valuable timepiece, and the suspects fled the scene in their car, which Shomrim discovered to have had stolen license plates.

Shomrim says that it appears that the criminal had been following the victim for some time beforehand, and noticed her expensive watch.

After the robbery, Hatzalah was called to treat the woman, who was in severe panic.

The alleged robber is described as heavyset with a darker complexion and long curly hair, which might be a wig. The suspect was wearing a green sweatshirt with a cap

At around 12:15 p.m., police identified and arrested one of the suspects.
