Meir Tamari, Hy”d, 32, a father of two, was killed on Tuesday in a shooting attack that took place in northern Shomron, at the entrance to Hermesh. The shooting was carried out from a passing vehicle and several shots were fired at the wounded man. A hunt is underway for the terrorists.

MDA medics and paramedics gave the victim medical treatment on the spot when he was injured in the shoulder from the gunshot and was conscious. He later succumbed to his wounds

MK Zvi Sukkot said about the attack: “Another serious attack in northern Samaria. The vast majority of the attacks in the past year take place in northern Shomron. Nearly half of those killed in terrorism in the entire country – from attacks that came out of northern Shomron. We need a broad operation against the nests of terrorism there.”

Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, said: “These attacks could have been avoided! This is a reality where the security checkpoints do not exist and the terrorist can go freely and return freely, and five minutes after he was shot and drinking coffee at his home in the village.”
