Bd’E – Reb Avrohom Yaakov Zeigler, Z”l, Founder of Zichron Shlome Refuah Fund

Hamodia is saddened to report the petirah of Reb Avrohom Yaakov Zeigler, z”l, the founder of Zichron Shlome Refuah Fund. He was 81 years old.

His son, Shlome Zeigler, z”l, battled leukemia for three years, and shortly before his petirah, he beseeched his parents to do something for others who were suffering as he had. After Shlome passed away in the prime of his life in 1987, Reb Avrohom Yaakov and his wife founded the organization with the mission of creating an island of tranquility for cancer patients and their families, assisting with medical expenses, mortgage, rent and utility payments, trips, camp and retreats, and many other services.

The levayah of Reb Avrohom Yaakov is scheduled for Motzaei Shabbos at 10:00 p.m. at Shomrei Hadas, 3803 14th Avenue (corner 38th Street) in Boro Park.
