Report: CIA Director Burns Visited Israel

CIA director Bill Burns arrived in Israel Thursday and met with Israeli officials, including Mossad chief David Barnea, Kan News reported on Friday.
Walla reported that Burns is meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders and intelligence chiefs in a bid to help de-escalate the recent tensions.
Burns arrived in Tel Aviv on Thursday, the Walla report said, citing two U.S. sources.
The CIA declined to comment on Burn’s visit which comes after a trip to Egypt.
The report said that while Burns’s visit was pre-planned and part of a larger U.S. diplomatic effort that includes Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s trip to the region early next week, he would likely take a major role in working to calm the situation.
