By Matis Glenn
Parking will be prohibited on the swath of the 17th Avenue bridge in Boro Park, due to repairs on the structure, which has several cracks.
The Department of Transportation posted a notice which reads that the first stage in the construction of the bridge, underneath which are Long Island Railroad tracks, will start January 30, and last until February 10.
During that time, no cars will be able to park on 17th Avenue from 54th Street to 57th Street on Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. According to the DOT, around 36 parking spots will be closed off during the construction time.
Construction will commence in the middle of the road, with parking lanes available for thru traffic.
