GPS Tracking Device Found Under NYPD Car Hood, Police Van Sabotaged

Police are investigating a tracking device that was found under the hood of a marked NYPD, according to a police memo obtained by NBC News on Tuesday.
An Apple AirTag tracker, used mainly to keep track of valuable items such as car keys, was discovered in Queens, but details about the exact location were not shared.
The memo reminded officers to check their vehicles carefully, and stressed extra caution given the current political anti-police climate.
Meanwhile, a separate memo obtained by the Daily News on Tuesday urged similar caution after describing a tire falling off of a police van in a NYCHA housing project, after an assailant apparently loosened the lug nuts on the wheel.
Police are investigating both incidents.
