Driver Runs Red Light, Crashes Into Cop Car

BORO PARK — A driver passed two vehicles and ran a red light, crashing into a police car at the intersection of 17th Avenue and 59th Street in Boro Park on Wednesday afternoon.
Surveillance footage shows two vehicles stopped at a red light on 17th Avenue, when a dark SUV passes them and, ignoring the red light, enters the intersection — where he is T-Boned by a police car coming down 59th Street. The police car crashed into a pole.
EMS responded to the scene. The SUV driver and two police officers were hospitalized, though none of the injuries appear to be serious.
