Ben-Gvir Demands Position on Ministerial Committee for Legislation

MK Itamar Ben-Gvir (Otzma Yehudit) on Monday added a demand to his nearly-finalize coalition deal, and asked that the Likud grant him the position of substitute chairman of the Knesset’s Ministerial Committee for Legislation.
Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu is said to want the top spot chairing the committee for himself, while Ben-Gvir’s spokesman confirmed that he will push to be his stand-in.
“In order to make sure the agreements will happen, we stand by our request to receive tools” the party needs to carry out its security policy, Ben-Gvir said.
