Riot Near Kever Rachel, Two Officers Lightly Injured

YERUSHALAYIM — In a riot near Kever Rachel on Monday evening, a police officer was lightly injured by an explosive device that was thrown at him, according to the Israel Police Spokesperson’s office.
The officer was evacuated to Shaare Tzedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim. A second officer was also hurt but required only first aid on the scene.
Border Police officers were called to the scene after around 40 people started a riot in the Aida refugee camp near Kever Rachel.
The rioters blocked roads and threw an explosive device and stones at the officers, according to reports.
“Border Police troops responded with riot dispersal means,” the spokesman said.
