Car Hits Mother and Three Children in Flatbush: No Serious Injuries

BROOKLYN — A mother and her three children were the victims of a hit-and-run accident at Avenue J and New York Avenue in Flatbush, and b’ezras Hashem their injuries are not life-threatening as they were transported by Hatzalah to Maimonides Medical Center in Boro Park.

The mother, who was thrown by the impact and trapped under a passing school bus, was immediately transported in one ambulance, and she was reported in stable condition at Maimonides.

Her three children, a baby boy, a three year old boy and their eight year old sister waited for their father to arrive, and when he reached the scene a few minutes after the accident, they were transported together in a second ambulance to be checked out by doctors as a precaution.

The eight year old girl complained of some pain in her feet, but her injuries were not serious. The baby boy was ejected from his carriage to the gutter, and his sister gathered her siblings and led them to safety on the sidewalk.

NYPD later found the car abandoned several blocks away, and are looking for the driver of the vehicle.
