Passenger Attempts to Enter Cockpit on Flight

NEW YORK – A passenger aboard a flight from Poland to JFK airport attempted to breach the cockpit, reports Fox News.Passengers said that the suspect began banging on the cockpit door, at around 8 p.m. Friday night. Passengers and flight crew subdued the man, who was pinned down until he was arrested.

Videos of the incident were posted to social media, and one of the passengers, a freelance travel writer, documented their experience.“A man started yelling and tried to storm the cockpit of our LOT Polish flight just after landing in JFK. Crew acted quickly to tackle him and announced a ‘serious… security incident; 15 mins later we are still taxiing,” JT Genter wrote on social media.

During the struggle, a flight attendant was hit. The condition of the victim is not known at this time.

Port Authority Police were waiting for the flight to finish landing, whereupon they arrested the individual, who is being evaluated at a hospital.
