BORO PARK — The NYPD is looking for an apparent Amazon driver who, while delivering boxes to a Boro Park porch, stole other boxes sitting on the porch — then proceeded to open the boxes they were delivering and stole the items inside.

The incident occurred on Shabbos afternoon, October 29, at 3:10 p.m. Surveillance footage shows an individual driving an Amazon delivery truck delivering packages to a home at 58th Street and 13th Avenue. After dropping the boxes at the home, the driver removes packages that were already at the location from previous deliveries, and loaded the packages into the truck. The driver also proceeded to open and remove items from the packages they were currently delivering to the residence.

The individual is described by police as approximately 30 years old, 5’7″ in height and 155 lbs., with a light complexion.

Amazon found out who the driver is, fired them, and is working with police to investigate the incident, according to 1010 WINS.

“We’ve identified the driver involved and they are no longer delivering packages for Amazon. We’re also coordinating with the NYPD to assist as they continue to investigate,” said Branden Baribeau, an Amazon spokesperson.

Amazon also says that they’re working with the victim.

“We’ve reached out to apologize to the customer and help replace the stolen items,” Baribeau said.
